Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1564763A2] A rod-type ignition coil has a coil body (10) and a cylindrical casing wall (12). A contact element (CE) (18) with a flexible cushioning element (FCE) (20) fits on the high-voltage side so as to retain a connecting screw (14) on a spark plug (16). The FCE fits in a recess (22) in the CE in direct contact with the spark plug connecting screw.
