Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004045862A1] A heat-sensitive printing material is disclosed, comprising a substrate layer and, applied thereto in the following sequence, a pigmented intermediate layer, a heat-sensitive printing layer containing a colour former and colour acceptors and a protection layer. Each applied layer, completely covers the layer upon which the same is applied. The intermediate layer comprises a pigment mixture of inorganic and organic pigments, the organic pigments having a particle size (D50) in a range from 0.75 pm to less than 1.5 ñm and a glass transition temperature of greater than or equal to 100 DEG C and the protective layer comprises a polyvinyl alcohol and a cross-linking adjunct. The novel heat-sensitive recording material comprises a higher resolution for the heat-induced printed image and an excellent printability in offset printing.
