Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004041540A1] The invention relates to a method for cleaning parts of rollers (3, 4) that are involved in the printing process, said parts remaining in the printing press during the printing process and being impinged upon by solvents. The parts of the rollers involved in the printing process are cleaned by means of a method in which the printing ink is first removed from the doctor blade chamber (2) and the doctor blade chamber is filled with solvent. An effective communication that allows solvent transfer is maintained during the cleaning process between the doctor blade chamber and the parts of the rollers involved in the printing process, which are to be cleaned. The rollers rotate during the cleaning process such that solvent is transferred from the doctor blade chamber to the parts of the rollers involved in the printing process, which are to be cleaned, and dilutes printing ink and/or dissolves dried printing ink there. The diluted and/or dissolved printing ink is redirected to the doctor blade chamber as a result of the rotation of the rollers.
