The sandwich plate which is formed from a decor panel (28) and closure panel (30) is fitted directly or indirectly on the door panel frame with the broad face (44) of the closure panel turned away from the decor panel. Independent claim describes method for manufacturing door panel by making the frame, cutting the edges of the decor panel, insulation material (32) and closure panel to match the size of the frame and placing the sandwich plate with its broad side face opposite the decor panel on the frame and fixing the edges of the sandwich plate on the frame.
