[origin: WO2004055207A1] The invention relates to a method for isolating nucleic acids from biological, in particular, large-volume samples while using an inorganic supporting material. The binding of nucleic acids to the supporting material ensues under acid conditions, and the elution ensues under basic conditions. The invention results in a large increase in the yield of isolated nucleic acids by virtue of the fact that a proteinase is added to the washing buffer.
