[origin: WO2004021213A2] The invention relates to a method for the database-assisted location of a quantity of medical studies corresponding to a specific patient profile, from a plurality of medical studies recorded in at least one database, that have respectively been carried out on a group of selected participants, said method enabling a doctor to find relevant medical records as decision-making aids for a treatment to be used for a specific patient profile. According to the inventive method, a. the medical studies are classified; b. for each study corresponding to the classification, at least i. the inclusion criteria on the basis of which participants are selected from a group of possible participants to take part in the study, ii. the exclusion criteria on the basis of which possible participants are excluded from participating in the study, iii. parameters of the group of study participants, and iv. at least one piece of information characterising the study is recorded in the database; c. patient-specific parameters are inputted into a search mask in order to find out the amount of studies which correspond to the specific patient profile; d. the patient parameters inputted into the database are compared at least with the exclusion criteria of the studies; e. all studies where at least one of the inputted patient parameters corresponds to an exclusion criteria of the study are classed as non-relevant to the patient profile; and f. at least one piece of information of a study from the total amount of remaining studies is outputted.
