[origin: WO2004049894A2] The invention relates to a mop (101) comprising a holder (102) for attaching a mop covering (103). The holder (102) is composed of an at least essentially rigid core (119) and of a flexible edge lining (120) that is placed along at least one portion of the edge of the flat core (119) or the mop covering (103) projects beyond the holder (102) on at least one portion of the periphery of said holder (102). The core (119) is preferably encapsulated with the material of the edge lining (120) by injection molding in order to achieve an improved joining and the provision of a small gap between the core (119) and the edge lining (120).
