Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004047893A1] Disclosed is a syringe (50) which can be displaced within a housing (14, 16) by means of the power exercised by springs (7, 9, 11). Transducing means (4, 5) transduce said spring power to the syringe (50) while resilient stopping cams (31) which engage into a groove (32) of the transducing means (4, 5) maintain the transducing means (4, 5) in the initial position thereof until being released. In order to prepare an injection, an axially displaceable releasing head (13) is pulled back from the represented position into a position in which the safety device of the auto-injector is released. In order to trigger an injection, the releasing head (13) is moved forward, resilient tongues that are disposed on the releasing head (13) engaging with the stopping cams (31) so as to push said stopping cams (31) apart. Resetting buttons (62) which are disposed inside the releasing head (13) act upon the resilient tongues when being pressed such that the resilient tongues do not engage with the stopping cams (31) when the releasing head is moved forward.
