[origin: WO2004053214A1] The invention relates to a device for producing a spun fibre from a staple fibre layer. Said device comprises a drafting assembly (3) in addition to an air-jet unit (4) that is located downstream of said assembly. The aim of the invention is to extend the service life of both the roller covers and the aprons of the drafting assembly and also to guarantee that the fibres always enter the inlet opening of the air-jet unit in the same manner. To achieve this, the device is provided with a traversing unit (25), which is connected in a driven manner to both the compressors (19, 20) that are associated with the drafting assembly (3) and to the air-jet unit (4).
