Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004055301A2] The invention relates to a device for closing sliding doors, said doors being displaceable parallel and in relation to a fixed guide rail with a U-shaped cross-section that is attached to a wall or below a ceiling, by means of at least one guide carriage on rollers, which has two end faces. The guide carriage and the sliding door are connected by means of a connecting element, using a gap in the guide carriage. The device is characterised in that it comprises an electromechanical unit, mounted on the guide carriage, said unit being capable of locking at least one guide carriage by means of a bolt, if an external control signal that triggers a locking operation is present, whereby the bolt is extended perpendicularly from a circular opening in the front face of a metal housing of the electromechanical unit and is proportioned in such a way that in a final position it runs through a bore in the guide rail and through a bore in one of the two lateral faces of the guide carriage. In addition, the electromechanical unit comprises a slit-type opening on the underside of the housing for manual unlocking, a pin projecting from said opening. The displacement of the pin along the longitudinal extension of the slit-type opening causes a mechanical retraction of the bolt. The invention also relates to a method for closing a sliding door.
