[origin: WO2004055433A1] The invention relates to a headlight unit (1) for a motor vehicle, particularly a passenger car, comprising a housing (2) which can be fixed to a vehicle body and within which at least one light source (5) is disposed. In order to be able to prevent the temperature inside the housing (2) from rising by an undesired degree during operation of the at least one light source (5), the inventive headlight unit is provided with a heat-conducting device (14), a terminal input section (15) of one end of which is coupled to the at least one light source (5) and/or a reflector (11) assigned to the at least one light source (5) so as to convey heat while a terminal output section (16) of the other end thereof is guided out of the housing (2) and can be connected to a zone of the vehicle body (3) so as to convey heat, said zone of the vehicle body (3) being suitable for dissipating heat.
