[origin: WO2004051342A1] The invention relates to a stereomicroscope (1) for magnifying an object (T) by means of at least one zoom (22) through which an object beam (K1) that is emitted by the object (T) is directed in the operating state. Said stereomicroscope (1) comprises a first deflecting device (P4) which is disposed behind the zoom (22) in relation to the direction of light and deflects the light beam that is directed through the zoom (22) into a direction (A3) diverging by less than 45 DEG from the opposite direction of the object beam (K1), the light beam (A1) that is directed through the zoom (22) being advantageously deflected substantially in the opposite direction of the object beam (K1).
