[origin: EP1574435A2] The packaging unit for cigarettes has pockets (14), into which cigarette packs (11) fit, film (12) then being wrapped around them. Pick-up units (13), grippers (15, 15'), folders (16, 16') and jaws (17 - 23) are used to wrap the packs in a single operation. Independent claims are included for: (A) conveyors for packaging material; (B) packaging machines containing the packaging unit; and (C) a method for wrapping cigarette packs using the unit.
