[origin: EP1574644A2] The central lock mechanism (1) may be uses with right-hand or left-hand locks. Door- or window handles may be attached to a square-section shaft (30). The shaft is connected to a central fastening bolt (6) and a spring-loaded unlocking button (5). The mechanism includes an emergency release (13) connected to a lock chain member (9) connected to drive rods (4) for additional catches. The drive rods are accommodated behind edge plates (2).
