Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1574667A1] The input region (4) of the diffuser (1) has a connection piece (3) immediately following guide blades (8) at the turbine exit. The diffuser has a modified circular cross-section (7) with an internal tapered rib (5). The thickest part (6) of the rib is in the narrowest part of the diffuser. The diffuser housing (2) gradually increases in inside diameter with distance from the turbine outlet.
