Abstract (en)
[origin: FR2848492A1] The procedure consists of applying a continuous layer of organic and reinforcing fibres to a moving substrate, covering at least one surface of the fibre layer with a powdered organic material - thermoplastic or thermosetting particles - and heating it to a temperature sufficient to melt the powder. The layer is then compressed and cooled to make a strip of composition material that can be cut into panels or rolled up on a support. The reinforcing fibres, of glass carbon or aramide, comprise preferably 30 - 85 per cent of the layer, and can be in the form of continuous or cut fibres, or a woven, knitted or non-interwoven layer. The powdered plastic is applied in a quantity sufficient to give a preferable final thickness of 0.5 - 0.8 mm.
