[origin: US7140172B2] A spinning machine drafting device includes a pressure roller loaded against a lower roller such that a fiber structure is conveyed between the roller pair. The pressure roller has an outer circumferential layer disposed around an inner circumferential layer of different low friction material as compared to the outer layer. The outer layer is thinner than the inner layer and disposed around the inner layer so as to slide relative to the inner layer upon rotation of the pressure roller in operation of the drafting device.
