Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004057195A1] The invention relates to a method for producing an electrically driven air pump (10), especially a method for producing a secondary air pump (10) for a motor vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine. Said air pump (10) is provided with a housing (12), within which a pump mechanism (13) that encompasses at least one ventilator wheel (36, 38), and an electric motor (16) that drives the at least one ventilator wheel (36, 28) are disposed. The inventive air pump (10) is balanced in the mounted state of the electric motor (16) in the housing (12) by balancing on at least two planes (A, B) that are located at an axial distance from each other. The invention further relates to an electrically driven air pump (10), particularly a secondary air pump (10) for a motor vehicle comprising an internal combustion engine. Said air pump (10) encompasses a housing (12), an electric motor (16) which is integrated into the housing (12) and is supported therein with the aid of elastic means (24), and a pump mechanism (13) which is provided with at least one ventilator wheel (36, 38) that is fixed onto a shaft (23) of the driving motor (16). A balancing disk (50) is arranged in the area of the end of the drive shaft (23) of the electric motor (16), which is located opposite the pump mechanism (13).
