Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004057635A1] In a switchgear, the switching contacts of the switchgear mechanism can be set to the on position or the off position, wherefore an electromagnetic drive is generally provided and a defined pressure of a contact force spring is used to apply a pre-determined contact force in the on position. According to the inventive method, the pressure is detected in the static state in the on position of the switchgear (1), i.e. when the switching contacts (17, 18) are closed, the detected pressure value is correlated with the erosion of the switching contacts (17, 18) and/or the wear of the switchgear mechanism (20, 30, 40), and the remaining service life of the switchgear (1) is determined from the values of the erosion of the switching contacts (17, 18) and/or the wear of the switchgear mechanism (20, 30, 40). At least one sensor (S1, S2, S3) for relative position measurements is provided on the switchgear mechanism (20, 30, 40) in the associated device, for the static detection of a pressure change.
