Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004058971A1] The present invention discloses a human cancer-relating gene, LAPTM4B, the product it encods and their applications. The titled human cancer-relating gene provided in this invention is one of the following nucleotide sequences: (1) SEQ. ID. No. 1, SEQ. ID. No. 2, SEQ. ID. No. 3, SEQ. ID. No. 6, or SEQ. ID. No. 8 shown in the sequence listings; (2) Nucleotide sequences that encode the protein sequences of SEQ. ID. No. 4, SEQ. ID. No. 5, or SEQ. ID. No. 7 shown in the sequence listings, and (3) DNA sequences that have more than 90% homology with the DNA sequences specified by the SEQ. ID. No. 1, SEQ. ID. No. 2, SEQ. ID. No. 3, SEQ. ID. No. 6, SEQ. ID. No. 8 shown in the sequence listings, and that encode proteins having the same or similar functions. Based on the present invention, it is possible to develop new anti-cancer pathways and drugs. This would be a project of significant social benefits.
