[origin: EP1577452A2] The invention relates to a drainage channel for discharging a liquid comprising a duct part comprising a bottom wall and upright longitudinal side walls, wherein the duct part is provided with a discharge opening and a stench-trap situated in the duct part, wherein the stench-trap connects to the discharge opening. Preferably the discharge opening is situated in one of the upright longitudinal side walls. The drainage channel according to the invention is particularly suitable to be placed in for instance a finished floor of a wet area in a building, such as for instance a bathroom or a shower cubicle.
