Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004060094A1] The invention relates to a section of a shoe, comprising a lower end, an upper material having an upper end (19), a watertight functional layer (16) comprising a lower end region with an area (20) which is not covered by the upper material, and a connecting strip (17) extending in the peripheral direction of the section. Said connecting strip comprises an upper longitudinal side (23) connected to the upper material end (19) and a lower longitudinal side (25), at least partially overlaps the functional layer area (20), and consists of a liquefiable sealing material or a material through which a liquid sealing material (37; 41) can flow. Said connecting strip (17) has a curved profile corresponding to the local curvature radius, at curvature points of the lower part of the upper material end (19), the two longitudinal sides (23, 25) having a stronger or weaker curvature, in such a way that, for an arc sector located in the respective curvature and having a pre-determined unitary sector angle, the arc lengths of the two longitudinal sides (23), relating to said arc sector, differ even more the stronger the curvature in the respective arc sector.
