Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004033128A2] The invention relates to a mold core arrangement for producing a cylinder crankcase for a piston engine having cylinders arranged in a row, which has a separate water cooling jacket. The mold core arrangement comprises a bottom core (5) that is joined with material fit to the cylinder cores (1, 2, 3, 4) while forming one piece, and comprises two separate concave water cooling jacket partial cores (6.1, 6.2), which laterally overlap the row of cylinder cores (1, 2, 3, 4) at a distance on the longitudinal sides, are joined to the bottom core (5), and which are joined to one another at both interspaced faces via at least one metal joining element (8) that, with its free ends (8.1, 8.2), is embedded in the core molding material of both water cooling jacket partial cores (6.1, 6.2) while being located at a distance from the bottom core (5).
