Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004060615A1] The invention relates to a drill hammer or a paving breaker comprising a housing (10), a tool holder (11) and an insulating air cushion striking train (12). The striking train (12) comprises a motor-driven piston (21) which can move back and forth, a hammer (22) which is driven by the piston (21) and a hammer tube (14) which guides the piston (21). An idling control opening and (31) an idling spring (35) are provided in order to control idling in the insulating air cushion striking train (12) when the tool is lifted from a processing point. In order to ensure an idling via a large idling path of the striking train (12) while at the same time ensuring low production costs and creating a constructively simple device, the hammer tube (14) is secured in the housing (10) in such a manner that it cannot be axially displaced and the tool holder (11) is embodied in such a manner that it can be axially displaced. The idling spring (35) is supported on the tool holder(11) and on a fixed stop ring (26) which cannot be displaced axially.
