Abstract (en)
The twine is made from 40 - 60 per cent by weight of cotton yarn with a count of 330 dtex and 40 - 60 per cent of vegetable silk yarn of 300 denier, made from fibres obtained from the marsdenia plant (Cionura erecta) originating in the Ukraine. It can also contain one or more other natural, articifial, synthetic or metallic yarns, but is preferably made from two cotton yarns twisted with one of vegetable silk to give a weight of one kilogram of twine per 1000 metres of length.
