[origin: EP1580311A1] The motor has a stator and a rotor for driving a washing machine etc. having a rotatable drum. The stator is arranged with its exciting coil fixed to the drum bearing. The rotor is fastened to an end of the drum shaft with an air gap between the rotor and the stator. The rotor is arranged to transfer torque to the drum. The drum shaft passes through a bore in the stator. The edge of the stator bore has a cylindrical or conical protrusion which engages in the bearing bore of the drum bearing so centering the stator bore relative to the bearing bore. Independent claims also cover a method of assembling the motor.
