[origin: EP1580834A1] The system has an impedance switching system (6) for switching between two states, where each state corresponds to a series connection of impedance between an antenna (3) and a transceiver module (4). The switching system includes an active unit e.g. active diode (61), whose passing or blocked state is controlled by a control unit (7), where the active diode is mounted in parallel to a variable resistor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a mobile telephone including an antenna and a transceiver module (B) a process for controlling antenna bandwidth.
