[origin: EP1582463A2] The device serves to close a catch with overlapping surrounding elements consisting of pliers which can swivel and be adjusted from an open position into a closing position. A cutter is provided for cutting off free tape ends. The pliers are tiltable (4) by means of a control drive (7) and the catch (3) is essentially relocatable in linearly. In an open position, the pliers are operable over a lever (8) and linked to the control drive. A central holder (10) between two cover plates (13, 14) is arranged and connected on a carrier (15) with the control driver fastened to it. Between the cover plates and the pliers intermediate plates are arranged. The cutter is fastened to the plate and the central holder is fastened into a lengthwise slot (20) of the cover plate (14).
