Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004060636A1] The invention relates to a method and device for processing a mixture consisting of natural fibers (2) and synthetic materials (1) in an extrusion device (30) having twin screws, which tightly intermesh while rotating in opposite directions and which are placed in a twin barrel. The aim of the invention is to provide a particularly reliable and energy-saving method. To this end, the synthetic material and natural fibers are fed to the extrusion device without predrying them and afterwards, the natural fibers, which are present in a mixture consisting of natural fibers and synthetic material, are dried in the extrusion device by means of repeated degassings.
