[origin: WO2004057103A2] The invention relates to a heated cylinder for heating webs of paper, cardboard, tissue, or other fibrous materials (1) in machines used for producing and/or upgrading said web of fibrous material (1). Said heated cylinder comprises a jacket which is heated at least in part from inside and/or heated in part within the jacket. In order to reduce surface tensions, the cylinder jacket comprises at least two layers (3, 4). The material of an outer layer (4) of the jacket has a greater thermal expansion coefficient than the material of an inner layer (3) thereof at a mounting temperature lying below the average operating temperature while having a smaller thermal expansion coefficient than the material of an inner layer (3) at a mounting temperature lying above the average operating temperature, and/or the outer layer (4) of the jacket is provided with a smaller thickness than an inner layer (4) thereof.
