Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2004042202A1] Known devices for separating liquids comprising cyclones mounted in parallel exhibit a poor separating action with variable gas currents. The inventive device exhibits an improved separating action in that the number of separating elements through which the gas current flows is respectively adapted to the gas current. A strong gas current flows through more separating elements than a weak gas current. In this way, the separating elements operate more closely to the optimum operating point than according to prior art. According to the invention, a closing body (11) of a distribution valve (13) is arranged in a distribution channel (10) in a displaceable manner and regulates - automatically or by means of a drive the optimum number of separating elements (16) through which the gas current flows.
