Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1586763A1] A fuel injector for use in an engine has a pintle (32) biased by a coil spring (34). The spring tension is adjusted by rotating a sleeve (42) surrounding the spring (34), the sleeve (42) having a screw-threaded connection (44) to a fixed part (48) of the injector. The sleeve (42) may be rotated by rotating a filter housing (40) externally of the injector body (30). The sleeve (42) may also act as a guide preventing lateral displacement of the spring (34). <IMAGE>
