[origin: WO2004067239A1] Disclosed is a machine comprising facing machine supports (1, 2) that are provided with machining units (4). Each machine support is provided with a conveyor chain (3) for continuously conveying workpieces (5) past said machine. The conveyor chains are driven in synchrony and encompass entraining cams (7) against which the workpieces rest. The workpieces are also retained on the conveyor chains by means of a pressure that is applied from the top. The second machine support can be displaced relative to the first stationary machine support (1) in a direction perpendicular (Y) to the direction of conveyance by means of a sliding rest in order to allow for different dimensions of the workpieces. In order to also be able to machine with high accuracy workpieces having the basic shape of a parallelogram, the sliding rest of the second machine support (2) is embodied as a compound rest and is provided with a second carriage (10) that can be displaced (X) in the direction of conveyance of the conveyor chains (A).
