[origin: WO2004067894A1] The invention relates to a spacer (29) for a front or rear running carriage (30, 46) of a shading device, especially a vertical blind (20) or a curtain, comprising a support rail (25) within which the running carriages (30, 46) are slidingly guided for opening and closing a hanging device (21). Previously known spacers (29) have the disadvantage of being disposed inside the support rail (25) such that the spacers (29) have to be mounted along with the support rail (25), whereby automatic assembly, a process which is more and more in demand, is made substantially more complicated or altogether impossible. In order to solve said problem, the inventive spacer is characterized by the fact that the spacer (29) can be clipped into a groove (40) located on the support rail (20) from outside.
