[origin: WO2004068056A1] The invention relates to a breech-block system for a firearm, comprising a breech-block (10), whose displacement in the barrel block (1) can be locked by means of at least one locking element. Said breech-block is braced against the rear end of the barrel by a locking spring (9), with the aid of at least one connecting element under traction. The aim of the invention is to guarantee a reliable and precise operation, even during a rapid-fire sequence, which is equally reliable for the marksman, in a simple, reproducible manner. To achieve this, the barrel (2) is rigid and is surrounded by the locking spring (9), the latter (9) being supported on the rear section of the barrel and only a purely mechanical delay is employed between the breech-block (10) and the locking spring (9).
