Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1588815A1] The procedure consists of grinding the tow to separate the fibres, which are mixed with a liquid such as cold water, either manually or mechanically, and heated by microwaves. The fibres are then hot-moulded to eliminate most of the water, and dried in the mould in a ventilated chamber at about 70 deg C for 24 hours. The tow used for the procedure can be obtained, for example, from flax plants or beet.
