[origin: EP1589132A1] The carding machine for making at least one fibre web (V1, V2) consists of a carding drum (1), doffing cylinders (2), condensing rollers (3), lifting cylinders (4) and transporting surfaces (6), with the lifting cylinders rotating at a speed of at least 130 m/min, and preferably 150 m/min or more. Between each lifting cylinder and transporting surface there is a rotary suction transfer roller (5) designed to transfer the fibre web between the two while holding it in place by suction. In a variant of the design each of the cylindrical transfer rollers can be replaced by a belt.
