A decorative fitting for a surface mounted hinge has at least one of the hinge flaps fitted with the decorative item (5), e.g. a shaped crystal to enhance the effect of the hinge, or to complement a decorative theme. The decorative fitting can be easily replaced and are fitted by any suitable means, e.g. by adhesive.
