[origin: WO2004072341A1] In order to displace a heald in a Jacquard-weaving machine, a heald spring is used for producing a tension force acting on the heald. For this purpose, the inventive device comprises a pneumatic cylinder provided with a piston which is arranged therein in such a way that it is movable at reduced friction. A strand connects said piston to the heald, thereby forming in a certain way a driven piston rod. The tension force is produced by a surface or pressure difference between two faces of the piston, thereby making it possible to carry out very fast positioning movements due to the low weight of the piston and connection means (2), thereby forming shedding in a very fast manner and producing a high operation speed for the weaving machine.
