[origin: WO2004070103A1] The cutting device for cutting a running, in particular, patterned textile web (26) made of meltable material comprises an electrically heatable cutting blade that is mounted between two holders (12, 14). The cutting blade (20) can be adjusted in such a manner that the cutting point on the cutting blade can be selected by a control device. Due to the fact that the cutting point on the cutting blade can be selected by a control device and, between its mounting points, has a march of temperature that increases toward the middle area, the adjusting process enables the textile web to be cut in the cutting blade's temperature range that is optimal for the respective textile area.
