[origin: WO2004067837A1] The invention relates to a former (10) with a sieve (12), preferably embodied as a round sieve, whereby an adjustable inlet gap (14), for a fibre suspension (18) flowing within a chamber (16), is provided between the sieve (12) and an upper lip (22), formed by a flow guide wall and an adjustable outlet (26), for the fibre suspension (18) flowing out of the chamber (16) is also provided. The upper lip (22) may be adjusted by means of a pressure medium in a direction towards the sieve (12) and in the opposite direction. The invention is characterised in that the upper lip (22) is mounted such as to be sectionally adjustable in the direction towards the sieve (12) and the direction away from the sieve (12), by means of a number of adjuster elements (52), in particular adjuster screws, mounted across the width thereof on a reinforcing element (32).
