Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2397422A] A portable warning device, eg. a fire alarm, comprising a circular housing provided with a main vent for allowing the ingress of air. A water detecting probe is attached to the device via a flexible lead. A rate of rise of temperature detector, a carbon monoxide detector and a microprocessor which sounds an alarm are also provided. If either of the detectors registers its detection variable at a level greater than a predetermined threshold, then the alarm is sounded. The device may also include an LPG detector which is detachable from the device; a personal attack alarm; or a PIR detector for detecting heat or movement in the vicinity of the device.
