[origin: WO2004062435A1] Disclosed is a piece of seating furniture (2), particularly an armchair, comprising a basic body (4) on which a seating area (6) is formed, and armrests (10, 12) that are disposed laterally from the seating area (6). The inventive armrests (10, 12) can be adjusted from a seating position into a lying position in which surfaces (14, 16) of the armrests (10, 12) form a lying area or a portion of a lying area such that a piece of furniture used for lying down is formed in the lying position. The inventive piece of seating furniture (2) can be used for both sitting and lying down and provides various adjustment options.
