[origin: WO2004067238A1] Disclosed are a method and a processing line for dissecting logs (70) into wood products (88, 92, 96) that are machined on all sides. The logs (70) are dissected into a central part (80) and outer parts (82) by means of saw cuts (78) that are performed parallel to a first central longitudinal plane (72) with the aid of a first saw. The outer parts (82) are then dissected into wood products (88) by means of second saw cuts (86) executed by a second saw which is placed downstream of the first saw. The second saw cuts (86) are performed parallel to a second central longitudinal plane (73) which extends substantially at a right angle from the first central longitudinal plane (72). The outer parts (82) are chipped in areas having an angular cross section before the second saw cuts (86) are performed.
