[origin: WO2004072345A1] The invention relates to a knitting machine, especially a warp knitting machine (1), comprising two knitting needle heads (2, 3) and two pile guide bars (25, 26) provided with guide needles (27, 28) which can be moved through the two heads (2, 3). Each pile guide bar (25, 26) is mounted on a suspension shaft (30, 32) by means of a guide lever (29, 31). The aim of the invention is to increase the height of the pile of knitwear produced by one such knitting machine. To this end, the two suspension shafts (30, 32) are superimposed.
