Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1593415A1] The switch back ride has a first rising section (3) and second falling section (4) connected together at their upper ends whereby the vehicle (1) can move along the side of the sections facing the inside of the loop. A device such as an arrester brake (5) for engaging on the vehicle is mounted in at least the first rising section. At the transition from the first to the second railed section the vehicle is located in an upside down position. Independent claim describes method for operating ride whereby the vehicle is transported from the starting point in the lower region of the railed section, the vehicle is released from the transport device and then moves down under gravity whereby the arrester brake engages on the vehicle when the vehicle is located within the vicinity of same.
