[origin: EP1593440A2] In a papermaking process a semi-liquid suspension of fibrous material is spread evenly over a flat moving surface by a scraper blade (22) secured within a clamp. The clamping action is effected by two inflatable hoses (14, 26). The clamp action is supported by a rubber hose (29) whose contraction distance is less than that of the second hose (28). The supplementary hose (29) can also be retro-fitted to existing machinery.
