[origin: EP1593762A2] The extracted airflow is induced by an injector. The compressed air flow and the extracted flow are blown off together. Before re-entering the environment, this combined flow is filtered. The compressed airflow is supplied at variable excess pressure, in order to control the rate of extraction. The compressed airflow is only produced for a short interval at the start of the process. After switching off the compressed airflow, the compressed fibers are removed from the crumpling chamber by a further conveying system. The equipment comprises a transfer nozzle (1) for pneumatic conveying of the fibers (28), followed by a compression-crumpling chamber (15) to form and contain the concentration of fibers (29). The chamber includes a gas-permeable region surrounded by an expansion chamber (16). The source of reduced pressure, an injector (18) is connected by a suction line with the expansion chamber. An independent claim is included for corresponding equipment.
