Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2004074678A1] The invention relates to a method for switching on and off the internal combustion engine of a vehicle. According to a method for switching on and off the internal combustion engine of a vehicle which comprises an internal combustion engine for driving the same, the internal combustion engine is linked with a drive train by means of a gear box. The gear box is associated with a clutch for establishing and releasing the frictional connection between the internal combustion engine and the drive train. For establishing and releasing the frictional connection to the drive train, the clutch is provided with a disengaging gear. The clutch is operated by the driver by means of a clutch pedal. According to the invention, a variable is detected that represents the engaging speed of the disengaging gear. Starting of the internal combustion engine is interrupted when this variable exceeds a threshold value.
