[origin: EP1595473A1] The basic device can be a broom with a long stick-shaped handle or a brush with a short handle as used in combination with a dustpan. Several rows of bunches of bristles (14) are fixed to a rectangular base with a suitable method. The base including the bristles can be covered with a flexible attachment (42) designed in an appropriate shape and provided with a multitude of trapezoidal wiping segments (15, 44, 50), tapering towards the bottom, when coarse debris like broken pieces of glass is to be removed.
